Seyi Edun


Fast rising actress and producer, Seyi Edun popularly known as ‘I am Shai’ has featured majorly in Yoruba movies. In the year 2009, Seyi joined the industry through her younger sister who happens to be a scriptwriter. It was the same year that she graduated from house of Wisdom cancus and produced her first movie.



During an interview, she revealed that she could never be seen flirting inappropriately in the movie, and that she could never share a wet kiss in the movie, and that she never posed nude in the movie. Seyi Edun is married to another Nollywood star, Adeniyi Johnson.



Seyi Edun also noted in a Sunday scoop interview that having to speak only Yoruba in a movie was her most challenging role.



“ My most challenging role was in the movie , Ogo Olorun , which I co -produced . In that movie , I had to speak Yoruba all through. It was quite challenging because all the lines had to be delivered in Yoruba language without blending it with English Edun also maintained that her greatest asset was her level of thinking . She added , “ My greatest asset is my level of thinking and coordination . I think I am doing well in that area . It is one of the things that endear people to me .”

Jaiye Kuti


Durojayeola Oluwakemi Kuti popularly known as Jaiye Kuti is from Ogun state Yewa Ayetoro Egbado to be precise.She has made a lasting impact on Yoruba movies, series and soaps on TV stations across Nigeria and is well known for her energetic role in film.


She wants acting as a profession because she always had a passion for acting since her childhood. Her acting career began with the registration of AGM, a Nigerina acting association, during which she went through an artist’s audition. Jaiye began with English Soap Opera. In the year 2002, Jaiye Kuti made her breakthrough film in the TV series Laugh Patterns, which led her to become a successful actress.


Before entering the Yoruba film industry, she began with Adebayo Salami Oga Bello and then joined Prince Jide Kosoko ‘s script writing and acting department. In 2014, she said it was unlikely for her to get a wet kiss on the phone. In 2016, she was awarded the post of ambassador to Lagos State Polytechnic because of her contribution to the film industry in Nollywood.



Jaiyeola Kuti has been married happily to Lanre Kuti, they got married on 31 August 2000 and it will be their 20th anniversary in August this year 2020. They are blessed with a boy and a girl, two beautiful girls. She’s one of the Nollywood actresses in the A-LIST.

Dupe Jaiyesimi


Modupe Jaiyesimi is a distinguished yoruba film actress. She started behaving right from the days of her high school, but still she couldn’t do anything. Upon finishing her polytechnics, however, she started working with Punch Newspapers when she met one of the artists at the custom office, and she spoke to him about her interest in acting, but then he guided her through from there.



In an interview, Modupe reveals why she prefers to live in Ibadan, she said:



“Yes, Ibadan is my base. I like to be in Ibadan because it will enable me to go to any location around the South West, being at the centre point. Ibadan is the place where I was born. That is why I prefer to be in Ibadan.”
